+ OUR STORY
It started with a data problem no one else could solve.
In 2020 a D2C merchant handed our technology company a migration every other agency had turned down. Six years later he is a co-founder of this one.
+ HOW WE GOT HERE
Six years, one relationship
2020
A migration nobody could crack
A D2C founder — online store plus physical retail — needed to move his catalogue onto Shopify. The hard part was never the storefront. It was the data: Google Shopping, Shopify, and Facebook each wanted the same product information in a different shape, and getting all three to agree was the whole business. He had already been through a list of agencies. None of them could figure out how the data had to be passed.
2020–23
We built it, then we ran it
That's the problem Lucent Innovation was built for. We took it apart, worked out how the data actually had to flow, and built the system on Shopify itself — feeds included. Then we kept building. For three years we ran the website with him: every time the brand needed another capability, we shipped it.
2025
He exited
He sold the business and took his exit. The engagement ended the way a good one should — the systems kept running for the buyer, and the relationship outlasted the contract.
2025
The question behind this agency
What we kept talking about afterwards was data — what his team had learned running spend at scale, what we were seeing on the technology side, and how rarely the two ever met inside one company. We ran a few projects together to test the idea before it had a name.
2026
Ads & Scale, formally
Those projects answered the question: why is Lucent only doing the technology? The brands we built for still had to hand their growth to someone else — someone who couldn't see the data layer underneath. So three of us formalised a second business to close that gap.
+ WHY THREE OF US
A merchant, a seller, and a data engineer
Growth agencies usually fail on one of three axes: they don't understand the brand's economics, they can't explain the value, or they can't build the data layer. We started with one person for each.

Performance Marketing & Growth Strategy
The merchant from 2020. He built a D2C brand, scaled its spend, and sold it — so he reads a growth problem from the inside of a P&L, not from the outside of a dashboard.

The commercial side. He knows how to take this to D2C brands and explain what a data layer is actually worth to them — in revenue, not in architecture diagrams.

Data & Analytics
The data side. Pipelines, measurement, and the part most agencies skip: turning collected data into intelligence you can act on this week.

An engineering company that learned to run growth
Lucent Innovation solved that feed problem because it is a technology company — it treated product data as an engineering problem rather than a marketing chore. Ads & Scale is that same instinct pointed at D2C growth.
So we built the agency backwards from how most are built. The data pipeline came first. Then measurement on top of it. Then the teams who act on what it says — performance, creative, social media, CRO, and data engineering, all in-house.
See what those teams do →Technology first, campaigns second
We came from engineering, not from media buying. Every engagement starts with whether the data is trustworthy — because optimising on broken numbers is just expensive guessing.
One pipeline, one source of truth
We collect the data, move it through a pipeline we own, and measure outcomes from it. No stitching together three platform dashboards that each claim the same conversion.
Intelligence applied, not reported
A report tells you what happened. We use the pipeline to decide what to do next — budget, creative, audience, on-site — and then measure whether the decision worked.
Every discipline in-house
Performance, creative, social, CRO, and data engineering are our own teams. Nothing is subcontracted, so nothing gets lost in a handoff between two agencies.
